Biography of Anna German
Anna German was born on February 14, 1936 in the Uzbek city of Urgench. Her father, Eugen Hermann, worked as an accountant in a bakery, and her mother, Irma Berner, was a German teacher. The singer had a younger brother, Friedrich, who died in early childhood.
Childhood and youth
The first tragedy in Anna's biography happened a year after her birth, when her father was arrested on charges of espionage. The man was sentenced to 10 years without the right to correspond. He was soon shot. After 20 years, the head of the family will be posthumously rehabilitated.
At the height of the Second World War (1939-1945), the mother remarried to the Polish officer Hermann Gerner.

In the early 60s, the girl felt the need to develop her voice. For this reason, she began to study vocal art with Yanina Proshovskaya.

Soon, Anna took part in another competition, after which her songs began to be played on radio stations. And yet, real fame came to her after performing the song "Dancing Eurydice" at the festival in Sopot-1964. She took 1st place among Polish artists and 2nd place in the international ranking.
The very next year, Herman began to successfully tour throughout the USSR, and then abroad. This led to the fact that her first album was sold in a million copies. By that time, the song "City of Lovers" had already been recorded, which was often played on the radio.
In 1966, Anna first appeared on the big screen, playing a minor role in the Polish film Adventures at Sea. Later she will participate in the filming of several more films, still playing episodic characters.
Soon, German was offered cooperation by the Italian recording studio "CDI". An interesting fact is that she became the first singer from behind the “Iron Curtain” to record songs in Italy. Later, she adequately represented Poland at major international festivals that took place in San Remo, Cannes, Naples and other cities.
Letov 1967 Anna German got into a serious car accident. At night, the car, in which the girl and her impresario was, crashed into a concrete fence at high speed. The blow was so strong that the artist was thrown through the windshield into the thicket.

The peak of the artist's popularity in the USSR came in the 70s - the Melodiya studio recorded 5 albums by Herman. At the same time, many songs were performed in different languages. In 1975 a series of programs “Anna German sings” was shown on Russian TV. Later, the singer met Rosa Rymbaeva and Alla Pugacheva. The most famous Soviet songwriters and composers collaborated with her.
Vyacheslav Dobrynin invited German to sing his song "White bird cherry", which she recorded on the first try. In 1977 she was invited to the "Song of the Year", where she performed the composition "When the Gardens Bloomed". Herman was treated for a long time and unsuccessfully, but still continued to sing. Sometimes she went on stage wearing dark glasses so that the audience did not see her tears. The disease progressed more and more, as a result of which the artist could no longer participate in concerts.
Personal life
Anna German was married to an engineer named Zbigniew Tucholski. Young people met on the beach. Initially, the couple lived in a civil marriage and only years later decided to legalize their relationship.
The woman was 39 years old when she became pregnant. The doctors advised to have an abortion, fearing for her life. This was due to the consequences of the accident, as well as the age of the singer. In 1975 she gave birth to a boy named Zbigniew, who will become a scientist in the future.
Herman was fond of the culinary arts. In particular, she liked oriental cuisine. Interestingly, she did not drink alcohol.
Death
Anna German died on August 25, 1982 at the age of 46. The cause of her death was sarcoma, which doctors never managed to cope with. After her death, many programs began to appear about the life and work of the singer.
