Vyacheslav Alekseevich Bocharov

Vyacheslav Alekseevich Bocharov - Russian serviceman, officer of Directorate "B" ("Pennant") of the Special Forces Center of the FSB of Russia, colonel. He took part in the operation to free the hostages during the terrorist attack in Beslan, during which he was seriously wounded. For courage and heroism he was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.

He is the Secretary of the Russian Public Chamber of the 5th convocation, as well as a member of the Executive Committee of the Russian Paralympic Committee.

Biography of Vyacheslav Alekseevich Bocharov

Vyacheslav Bocharov was born on October 17, 1955 in the Tula city of Donskoy.

After leaving school, Bocharov successfully passed the exams at the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School. In the future, he will serve in the Airborne Forces for a long 25 years.

During the biography of 1981-1983. Vyacheslav Bocharov was part of a limited group of Soviet troops participating in the military conflict in Afghanistan.

Vyacheslav Alekseevich held the positions of deputy commander of a reconnaissance company and commander of an airborne company of the 317th Guards Parachute Regiment.

During one of the battles, together with 14 paratroopers, Bocharov was ambushed by militants. Already at the beginning of the battle, he came under open fire, as a result of which both his legs were interrupted.

Despite his grave condition, Vyacheslav Bocharov continued to lead the detachment.

Thanks to the skillful leadership of Bocharov and his lightning-fast decisions, the paratroopers managed not only to fight off the spooks, but also to inflict serious losses on them. At the same time, the entire group of soldiers remained alive.

Later Vyacheslav Alekseevich served in the 106th Guards Airborne Division. At the age of 35, he successfully graduated from the Military Academy. M. V. Frunze.

After that, Bocharov was entrusted with the post of chief of staff of the parachute regiment. In 1993 he began serving in the Office of the Commander of the Airborne Forces.

Tragedy in Beslan

In 1999-2010. Vyacheslav Bocharov took part in counter-terrorist operations in the North Caucasus.

When on September 1, 2004, terrorists seized one of the Beslan schools in North Ossetia, Bocharov and his squadron immediately arrived at the scene.

More than 30 terrorists took hostage thousands of students, parents and teachers at school # 1. For 2 days, negotiations were held between the militants and the Russian government. The whole world was closely following these events.

On the third day, at about 13:00, a series of explosions occurred in the school gym, which led to the partial destruction of the walls. After that, the hostages began to run out of the building in different directions in panic.

The group under the command of Vyacheslav Bocharov, together with other special forces, began a spontaneous assault. It was necessary to act instantly and accurately.

Bocharov was the first to enter the school, having managed to eliminate several militants on his own. Soon he was wounded, but he continued to participate in the special operation anyway.

At the same time, the immediate evacuation of the remaining hostages began from the building. Now in one place, then another, machine gun fires and explosions were heard.

During the next shootout with terrorists, Vyacheslav Alekseevich received another wound. The bullet entered just below the left ear and flew out under the left eye. Facial bones were broken and the brain partially damaged.

Fighting comrades carried Bocharov out of school, as he was unconscious. For some time he was listed as missing.

When a few days later Vyacheslav Bocharov began to come to his senses, he told the doctors his data.

Ultimately, the attack took the lives of 314 people. It is worth noting that most of the victims were children. Shamil Basayev claimed responsibility for the deed.

In 2004, by order of Vladimir Putin, Vyacheslav Alekseevich Bocharov was awarded the title of Hero of Russia.

Throughout his life, Bocharov faithfully served his fatherland, fearlessly fighting his enemies. In 2015, a monument was erected to the colonel on the territory of the Ryazan VVDKU, located in the Moscow region.
