Ahnenerbe is an organization created to study the traditions, history and heritage of the Germanic race. It existed in the period 1935-1945.
During this time, many expeditions were carried out in different countries, the results of which are still of interest to modern scientists.
Translated from German, the word "Ahnenerbe" literally means - "The heritage of the ancestors." It is worth noting that the full name of this organization sounds like - "German Society for the Study of Ancient Forces and Mysticism."
Ahnenerbe activities
The creators of the Ahnenerbe were Heinrich Himmler and Hermann Wirth. It is curious that many details of Ahnenerbe's activities are still unknown. Not so long ago, a suitcase was found in Adygea, once belonging to this society, inside which were the skulls of unknown creatures.
Until the outbreak of World War II (1939-1945), Ahnenerbe studied the history of the Germanic race. The organization's staff tried to find all sorts of evidence of the superiority of the Germans over all other races. At the same time, much attention was paid to the occult, which Himmler and Hitler were fond of.
Over time, Ahnenerbe moved to the Concentration Camp Inspectorate, becoming a subordinate organization of the SS. At the beginning of the war, Ahnenerbe ceased to belong to the SS. It began to receive huge funding that allowed it to conduct in-depth research in different parts of the world.
Expeditions Ahnenerbe
The Ahnenerbe leadership carried out a number of major expeditions to Greenland, Iceland and Antarctica, where scientists were required to find signs of the "superior race" - the progenitors of the "Germanic race". However, none of the expeditions reached their goal.
An interesting fact is that after the end of the war, Soviet specialists managed to find the military bases of the fascists in Antarctica. As you know, the Fuhrer considered the North and South Poles to be the most powerful source of energy.
In the Himalayas, the Nazis sought to find the famous Shambhala. And although they could not find it, the Germans made a number of significant discoveries in the field of biology.
Ahnenerbe's activities during the war
In these years, Ahnenerbe taught SS soldiers the history of the ancient Germans, and also helped the soldiers to master the runes. It is important to note that the organization paid special attention to the runes.
At the beginning of the war, Ahnenerbe began experiments in the construction of human consciousness and the creation of a new "breed" of people. Prisoners of war who were in German concentration camps were the test subjects. The poor fellows were subjected to gradual freezing, after which scientists studied the physical properties of humans.
As people froze, their body temperature, heart rate, pulse rate, respiration, etc. were recorded. The silence of the night was often broken by the heartbreaking cries of the martyrs.
They also experimented with mustard gas, a poisonous gas that damages the respiratory system. On the territory of Crimea, Ahnenerbe's employees carried out experiments that defy explanation.
Purebred "Aryans" were sawed along the spine, their heads cut off, their skulls and joints drilled, rubber catheters were inserted into their feet, and chemicals were tested on them. Perhaps in this way the leadership tried to bring out that very "breed" of people, using not prisoners, but Germans.
The collapse of the Ahnenerbe
In November 1945, at the famous Nuremberg Trials, the judges declared Ahnenerbe a criminal organization, and its leaders were sentenced to death. Who knows, maybe in the future we will learn many more interesting details about the activities of this organization.
