The Georgia Tablets is a relatively new monument erected in 1980 in Elbert County. It is interesting for its content, although many people have conflicting opinions about it. The name of the creator of the instructive inscriptions is still a mystery, which is why disputes arise about the expediency of their preservation.
Creation and maintenance of the Georgia tablets
The monument consists of six granite slabs and reaches a height of 6.1 meters. In the center there is a rectangular slab with a square base, which is a support for the monument. At some distance from the corners, four more plates of the same size are installed. On each of the large faces there is an inscription with the same content, but in different languages, recognized as the most popular today.
There is even a list of rules in Russian. Dead languages are also used on the monument, including Sanskrit, Ancient Egyptian, Classical Greek and Akkadian. The instructions in these languages are located almost at the very top.
Many should be interested in what is written on this unusual monument. The tablets give teachings to future generations regarding the correct construction of their worldview and attitude to the environment. For this reason, they are also called the Ten Commandments of the New World Order. The list of tips calls for respect for nature, care and attention to the entire population of the world, regardless of nationality, honesty and decency, unity and tolerance.
It is also interesting that the plates are installed with an orientation to astronomical bodies. So, in the upper slab there are several holes that allow you to find out the day of the year by the sunbeam hitting the stone at noon. At night, walking between the plates, you can see the pole star from anywhere.
The Georgia Tablets were created and installed by an anonymous American construction company. The start of work was scheduled for June 1979, and on March 22, 1980, the instructions became part of the US cultural heritage. In addition to granite slabs, at some distance from the monument, inserts were installed describing the main purpose of the monument and data on its construction. The opening was attended by very few people, largely because it was treated with some distrust.
Reasons for public attention
Despite the fact that the commandments written on the tablets call for a kind attitude towards others, many are suspicious of them due to the fact that it is not yet known who the idea of putting forward rules of conduct for descendants belongs to. Under the terms of the contract with the construction company, the client is Robert C. Christian.

Digging deeper, it is known that the monument was erected on land owned by the Mullenix family. True, the latter, according to the documents, acquired the farm on October 1, 1979, when work on the monument was already underway, although the installation has not yet been carried out.
In 2008, the Georgia tablets were vandalized. It is believed that the act was committed by fanatics of the local Christian community, justifying themselves by the fact that the monument was erected by adherents of Luciferianism - devil worshipers.
They put several inscriptions on different sides of the monument, calling on people to speak out against the government, wealthy individuals and a number of organizations that, in their opinion, do not support God's laws. Photos with captions will allow you to assess the degree of their inconsistency and lack of logic in their statements. To date, the monument has been cleared of fanatical slogans, so when visiting Elbert County, you can read the commandments in their original form.
