What is industrial civilization not everyone knows. This topic is given great attention at school, since it has played a huge role in the history of mankind.
In general, industrialization is a process of an accelerated socio-economic transition from a traditional stage of development to an industrial one, with a predominance of industrial production in the economy (especially in such industries as energy and metallurgy).
Once upon a time, people had to expend colossal efforts to get their own food or clothing. For example, going out hunting with a spear or other primitive weapon, a person put his life at risk of being killed by a beast.
More recently, well-being largely depended on physical labor, as a result of which only the strongest received a “place in the sun”. However, with the advent and development of industrialization, everything changed. If earlier much depended on natural conditions, location and a number of other factors, today a person can lead a comfortable lifestyle even where there are no rivers, fertile soil, fossils, etc.
Industrial civilization has allowed many people to arrange their lives through mental rather than physical effort. From a scientific point of view, industrialization gave a quick impetus to the development of industry. A significant part of the population was able to engage in skilled labor. If earlier strength and endurance played a big role in life, today these factors have faded into the background.
All heavy and dangerous work is mainly carried out by different mechanisms, which means that less time is spent on the task and increases the efficiency. Of course, in the modern world there are many dangerous professions, but in relation to the past, the life of such workers is much less prone to accidents. This is evidenced by the significantly lower mortality rate in the process of "getting food".
Thus, the active use of scientific achievements and an increase in the share of the population employed in skilled labor are the main aspects that distinguish an industrial society from an agrarian one. At the same time, at present, in a number of countries, the economy is based not on industrialization, but on agricultural activity. However, such states cannot be called truly developed and economically successful.
