So, before you is a short biography of Till Lindemann.
Lindemann's biography
Till Lindemann was born on January 4, 1963 in Leipzig (GDR). He grew up and was raised in an educated family.
His father, Werner Lindemann, was an artist, poet and children's writer who has published over 43 books. Mother, Brigitte Hildegard, worked as a journalist. In addition to Till, a girl was born in the Lindemann family.
Childhood and youth
Till spent all his childhood in the small village of Wendisch-Rambow, located in northeastern Germany. The boy had an extremely strained relationship with his father. An interesting fact is that a school was named after Lindemann Sr. in the city of Rostock.
Since the father of the future musician was a famous writer, there was a large library in the Lindemann house. Thanks to this, Till got acquainted with the work of Mikhail Sholokhov and Leo Tolstoy. It is curious that he especially liked the works of Chingiz Aitmatov.
The first tragedy in Lindemann's biography occurred at the age of 12, when his parents decided to leave.
The head of the family had a difficult character. He drank a lot and died in 1993 from alcohol poisoning. By the way, Till was not present at his father's funeral.
Soon the mother remarried an American. It is worth noting that the woman was fond of the work of Vladimir Vysotsky, as a result of which her son knew many songs of the Soviet bard.
The years spent in the village did not pass without a trace for Till. He mastered several rural trades and also learned carpentry. In addition, the guy learned to weave baskets. At the same time, he paid great attention to sports.
Lindemann began attending a sports school, which prepared a reserve for the GDR, at the age of 10. As a result, when he was about 15 years old, he received an invitation to the junior national team of the GDR to compete in the European Swimming Championships.
Till Lindemann was supposed to compete at the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, but that never happened. His sports career ended after one incident in Italy, where he came to the competition. The guy secretly left the hotel and went for a walk around Rome, since before that he had not had the opportunity to be abroad.
At nightfall, Lindemann went down the fire escape to the street, returning to his room the very next day. When the leadership found out about his "escape", Till was summoned several times to the Stasi (GDR security service) for interrogations.
Later, the man admitted that the Stasi officers viewed his act as a serious crime. It was then that he clearly understood in which non-free republic with a spy system he lived.
It is fair to say that Till quit swimming also because he had a serious injury to his abdominal muscles, which he received in one of the training sessions.
Having reached the age of 16, Lindemann refused to serve in the army, for which he almost ended up in prison for 9 months.
Music
Lindemann's musical career began with the punk rock band First Arsch, where he played drums. During this time of his biography, he became friends with Richard Kruspe, the future guitarist of "Ramstein", who offered him the role of vocalist in a new group, which he had long dreamed of founding.
Till was surprised by Richard's proposal, as he considered himself a weak vocalist. Nevertheless, Kruspe stated that he had repeatedly heard him sing and play musical instruments. This led to Lindemann accepting the offer and in 1994 became the frontman of Rammstein.
Oliver Reeder and Christopher Schneider soon joined the band, and later guitarist Paul Landers and keyboardist Christian Lawrence.
Till realized that to improve his vocal skills, he needed training. As a result, for about 2 years he took lessons from the famous opera singer.
An interesting fact is that the mentor encouraged Lindemann to sing with a chair raised above his head, and also sing and do push-ups at the same time. These exercises helped develop the diaphragm.
Later "Ramstein" began to collaborate with Jacob Helner, recording in 1995 the debut album "Herzeleid". Curiously, Till insisted that the songs be sung in German, and not in English, in which most popular bands sang.
The first disc "Rammstein" gained worldwide popularity. A couple of years later, the guys presented their second disc "Sehnsucht", having recorded a video clip for the song "Engel".
In 2001, the famous album "Mutter" was released with the song of the same name, which is still performed at almost every concert of the group. In the songs of the collective, sexual themes are often raised, as a result of which the musicians are repeatedly at the center of scandals.
Also, in some clips of the group, a lot of bed scenes are shown, which is why many TV channels refuse to broadcast them on TV. In the period 2004-2009. the musicians have recorded 3 more albums: "Reise, Reise", "Rosenrot" and "Liebe ist für alle da".
At Ramstein concerts, Lindemann, as well as other members of the rock group, often appear in frank images. Their concerts are more like large pyrotechnic shows that enthrall their fans.
Till's father wanted his son to become a poet, and so it happened. The leader of "Rammstein" is not only a songwriter, but also the author of poetry collections - "Knife" (2002) and "In a quiet night" (2013).
In addition to his musical activities, Lindemann is fond of cinema. As of today, he has starred in 8 films, including the children's film "Penguin Amundsen".
Personal life
Lindemann's friends and relatives say that the singer is far from the image he shows on stage. In fact, he has a calm and docile nature. He loves fishing, outdoor recreation, and is also fond of pyrotechnics.
Till's first wife was a girl named Marika. In this union, the couple had a girl named Nele. After parting, Marika began living with the band's guitarist Richard Kruspe. Later, Nele gave her father a grandson - Fritz Fidel.
A few years later, Lindemann remarried to Ani Keseling. In this marriage, the couple had a daughter, Maria-Louise. However, this union also fell apart, and with a loud scandal. The woman claimed that her husband constantly cheated on her, abused alcohol, beat her and refused to pay alimony.
In 2011, Till Lindemann began cohabitation with German actress Sofia Tomalla. Their relationship lasted for about 4 years, after which the couple broke up.
In 2017, news appeared about a possible romance of a German musician with Ukrainian pop singer Svetlana Loboda. The artists refused to comment on their relationship, but when Loboda named her daughter Tilda, this prompted many to think that there was really a close relationship between them.

A man prefers live communication, and therefore does not like to correspond on the Internet. In 2019, he, along with other members of the group, presented the 7th studio album - "Rammstein". In the same year, the second disc of the duo "Lindemann" was released under the name "F & M".
