Biography of Brekotkin
Dmitry Brekotkin was born on March 28, 1970 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg). He grew up and was brought up in a simple family that has nothing to do with show business. His father worked as an engineer, and his mother worked as a doctor.
Childhood and youth
From childhood, Dmitry was a very mobile and restless child. In addition to studying at school, he managed to attend many sports sections, including swimming, skiing and badminton. However, due to restlessness, the boy attended each of the circles for no more than six months.
In the 5th grade, Brekotkin decided to sign up for sambo. To the surprise of the parents, their son attended training in all seriousness and made notable success in this sport. An interesting fact is that later he managed to pass the standard for a candidate for master of sports.
After receiving the certificate, Dmitry went to the army. He served in Germany in the tank forces. Returning home, the guy decided to get a higher education.
Brekotkin entered the local university, choosing the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In an interview, he admitted that he chose this department only because of the low competition. Then he did not yet suspect that, to some extent, thanks to the university, he would acquire all-Russian popularity.
KVN
In the mid-90s, in a student construction brigade, Dmitry met Sergey Ershov and Dmitry Sokolov, who invited him to play for the Uralskiye Pelmeni university team.
Since Brekotkin often skipped classes and received low grades in many disciplines, the university management decided to expel him for poor performance. As a result, he went to work on a construction site, where at first he was an auxiliary for a plasterer.
Over time, the guy mastered dozens of construction trades, becoming a competent specialist. An interesting fact is that later he was entrusted with the position of a foreman, and then a master of construction and installation works. It is important to note that in spite of the hard and responsible work, he continued to perform on the KVN stage.
Over time, Dmitry Brekotkin was forced to make a choice - KVN or construction. As a result, he decided to connect his life with KVN. Uralskie dumplings in the shortest possible time managed to become one of the brightest teams in the Major League.
In 1999, the team managed to reach the semifinals, and the next year they became champions of the Major League of KVN. A couple of years later, "Pelmeni" became the owners of Big KiViN in gold. In 2007, the guys announced their retirement from KVN, focusing on the television career.
Films and television
Back in 2006, Uralskiye Pelmeni began working on creating an entertainment program. The following year, the humorous show "Show News" was released on TV, which received many positive reviews from critics.
The next major TV project was Yuzhnoye Butovo. This show, which lasted about a year, was based on humor and improvisation. It is worth noting that Dmitry Brekotkin and Sergey Svetlakov were considered its main characters.
In 2009, the former KVNschiki announced the creation of the “Uralskiye Dumplings Show”, which still remains popular. By 2020, more than 130 issues of this program have been released, in which there are humorous scenes and musical numbers.
An interesting fact is that the authoritative edition "Forbes" included "Dumplings" in the list of "50 main Russian celebrities - 2013". In 2018, the show was awarded the prestigious TEFI award in the Humorous Program / Show category.
Today, this project cannot be imagined without Dmitry Brekotkin, as, indeed, without its other leaders such as Andrei Rozhkov, Dmitry Sokolov and Vyacheslav Myasnikov. In addition to reaching great heights on the stage, Brekotkin showed himself well as a film actor.
At the beginning of the millennium, Dmitry played a minor character in the sitcom "Pisaki". After that, he got the role of a pizza delivery man in the comedy "A Very Russian Detective". It is curious that Vadim Galygin and Yuri Stoyanov starred in the last picture.
In 2017, the comedy film Lucky Case was released on the big screen, where the key roles went to the participants in Pelmeny. The box office of this film exceeded $ 2.1 million.
Dmitry Brekotkin can be seen in various humorous TV shows, and yet he managed to achieve the greatest success as an artist of the "Ural dumplings".
